Alyxandra Harvey is the author of the hugely popular Haunting Violet as well as the vampiric Drake Chronicles books, which have sold over 140, 000 copies worldwide. Bleeding Hearts is the fourth book in the series, which was inspired by the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Lucy’s cousin Christabel has come to live in Violet Hill, and adjusting to the difference between life in a small mountain town and her home in the city is difficult. The strict curfew that Lucy’s parents enforce is hard to respect. Surely nothing really dangerous could happen in this tiny town. Could it?
When Christabel starts to notice some mysterious happenings it seems like Lucy, her boyfriend Nicholas and his brother Connor are all in on a secret that Christabel doesn’t understand – one that seems deadly serious. When Christabel is kidnapped by the Hel-Blar vampires, Lucy and Connor finally fill her in on all the undead drama. Together that must find a way to stamp out the Hel-Blar for good.
Alyxandra Harvey has created an engaging and believable world of vampire culture. Her heroines rebel against the stereotypical female characters in the paranormal romance genre: they are smart, sassy and brave, not damsels in distress waiting to be rescued. Alyxandra’s style is witty, edgy and just dark enough. Perfect for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Carrie Jones and Becca Fitzpatrick.
Alyxandra Harvey studied creative writing and literature at York University. When she’s not writing she is a belly dancer and jewellery maker. Alyxandra lives with her husband in a haunted Victorian house in Ontario, Canada.
Alyxandra Harvey’s next book Stolen Away is a stand alone novel and will be published in the UK on 5th January 2012.
